LoJack Vehicle Recovery Case File: Across State Lines — 2023 Range Rover (Ashburn, VA → Baltimore, MD)

First‑person account by a LoJack Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) supporting police agencies; not a sworn officer.
Case Snapshot
Vehicle: 2023 Land Rover Range Rover
Activation: Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Ashburn Station (NCIC entry following inventory discovery)
Recovery: Baltimore County Police, Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT)
Dealership/Installer: Ferrari of Washington (vehicle equipped with LoJack GPS)
Vehicle Recovery Narrative
Inventory checks don’t lie. When a dealer in Loudoun County noticed a Range Rover missing, deputies moved fast—report taken, VIN into NCIC. Because the SUV carried LoJack GPS, the manager could share live coordinates in real time.
My role was to keep the information flowing and make sure the right team had the signal. Loudoun County coordinated with Baltimore County’s Regional Auto Theft Task Force. Detectives opened the LoJack Law Enforcement app and rode the dots to a self‑storage facility in Baltimore.
The SUV was found undamaged and recovered without incident. The investigation is still working through the who and the how, but the why is simple: fast reporting, interagency cooperation, and a tool designed to work across borders.
Tactical Takeaways for LE Partners
- Vehicle recovered intact; case remains under investigation.
- Dealership‑installed LoJack provided real‑time location across state lines, accelerating interagency coordination.
- RATT Detectives used the LoJack LE app to navigate directly to a self‑storage facility—no guesswork.
