We started transforming the insurance industry in 1966 with the digital processing of insurance claims. Now, with more than 1 million daily global transactions, we’re changing the way vehicle insurers, repairers, dealers, and fleets provide value to their customers.

Our beginning

Audatex was founded in Minden, Germany in 1966. The company, known as the world’s first automated vehicle repair system, expanded across Europe and North America, adding solutions to address the insurance and automotive repair needs. Audatex became a part of Solera in 2006. An established industry benchmark, Audatex continues to drive the future of claims innovation, powered by vehicle-data intelligence.


Solera has grown organically and through 50+ acquisitions to expand its software and data platforms within collision claims and across key touchpoints of the vehicle ownership lifecycle. We have transformed the way dealers, insurers, repairers, and fleets provide value to their customers in over 100 countries. In 2016, Solera was acquired by Vista Equity Partners, a leading technology investment firm.


We have invested significantly in our global and scalable modular technology platforms, data analytics capabilities, and AI across Solera solutions. We address the full range of the vehicle ownership lifecycle through our four lines of business – vehicle claims, vehicle repairs, vehicle solutions, and fleet solutions. Our strategic transformation has been built on a culture that is relentless about operational excellence, innovation, and customer success. That culture is the foundation for where Solera goes next.


Our growth is accelerated by innovations such as our unified global digital claims platform, Solera Fleet Management System, a SaaS-based mechanical diagnostics capability, and a digital appraisal application for dealerships. We continue to innovate through our global centers-of-excellence and the consolidation of go-to-market approaches and platforms. To further enhance our end-to-end vehicle lifecycle solutions and bridge the gap between vehicle and driver performance, we acquired Omnitracs, eDriving, and DealerSocket in 2021.
