Mapfre Brazil Becomes the first insurer in Latin America to adopt Solera’s Qapter with visual intelligence technology

Launch set to transform claims management in the insurance market and further strengthen the 25-year partnership with the insurer, accelerating its innovation strategy

São Paulo, january 2025 — Solera, a global leader in data, software, and artificial intelligence for the automotive and insurance ecosystem, announces the official implementation of Qapter by Mapfre Brazil, one of the country’s largest insurers and the most significant Mapfre operation outside Spain worldwide.

Developed using artificial intelligence and powered by real claims data, Qapter AI will transform the way claims are estimated and managed, delivering unprecedented accuracy and automation across the entire process.

Qapter AI is built on three core drivers:

  • Qapter VIN: Capable of identifying thousands of individual parts for any vehicle, delivering unmatched precision in parts recognition and ADAS systems, such as cameras and sensors.
  • Qapter Intelligent Estimating: Powered by Visual Intelligence, which enables both touchless automation of small and medium-sized claims and the Expert Co-Pilot mode to support adjusters in complex cases, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Qapter Analytics: Enables the evaluation of key data-driven metrics to support strategic decision-making, such as monitoring repairability rates and CO₂ emissions, aligning claims operations with efficiency and sustainability goals.

Touchless mode for minor damage; super-experts for complex cases

The platform transforms experts into elite professionals by automating low-complexity estimates and providing full operational visibility — from precise VIN-based parts selection to analytical dashboards with operational and strategic business indicators.

Mapfre’s positive outlook

We are already seeing concrete benefits from the start of operations with Qapter, such as increased productivity and improved accuracy in claims management. Qapter raises the quality and consistency of damage estimates while enabling our specialists to make faster, smarter, and more precise decisions,” highlighted Roberto De Antoni, Operations Director at MAPFRE Brazil. “The tool has proven to be a strategic ally in accelerating our business transformation.”

With Mapfre leading the adoption of Qapter AI, the Brazilian insurance market takes a decisive step toward a smarter, more automated, and more sustainable claims management model.

The implementation reinforces Solera’s role as a long-term, trusted partner to insurers worldwide, helping them modernize operations, reduce costs, and deliver better outcomes through data-driven innovation.

SOLERA´s commitment to productivity

We are extremely excited about advancing our innovation partnership with Mapfre, now even more strategic with the adoption of Qapter AI. Mapfre now benefits from Visual Intelligence technology that delivers tangible operational gains, particularly through the touchless mode, which automates minor damage claims. This increases accuracy in parts selection and delivers unprecedented productivity gains for adjusters handling more complex damage, accelerating transformation and innovation in the insurance market,” said Marcelo Picolo, Executive Director for Southern Latin America at Solera.

He added: “With Qapter AI, we are connecting every part of the claims ecosystem — from insurers and OEMs to repair networks and partners — delivering measurable impact through intelligent data and automation.”
