Farvima deploys Solera’s RNA solution to reduce emissions and improve last-mile delivery productivity
Farvima to take entire fleet of 700 delivery vehicles across 18 warehouses onto Solera’s solution to optimise cost for its last mile operations
London, 20 November, 2024 – Solera, the global leader in vehicle lifecycle management, has today announced thatFarvima, one of Italy’s largest pharmaceutical companies, has deployed Solera’s Roadnet Anywhere, to drive the efficiency of its logistics operations.
According to a Solera study, European fleet managers face unprecedented challenges. Two-thirds (65%) of fleet decision-makers say customers now anticipate speedier delivery, and 79% feel pressure to deliver goods more quickly and effectively. Solera’s Roadnet Anywhere is designed to tackle these challenges. AI is used to enable fleets to optimise the costs and resources of their last-mile logistics operations. Farvima is one of the first companies in Europe to deploy the solution.
Farvima has opted for a full-suite solution that includes a strategic planner, routing, dispatch, mobile manager for the driver, and analytics. The company will roll out the platform for 700 delivery vehicles across 18 warehouses, covering all of Italy. Using a smartphone app, users can optimise their last-mile routes based on more factors, from cost to customer service and seasonality, to ensure end customers receive goods on time and with complete traceability.
Commenting on the move, Mirko De Falco, CEO at Farvima, said: “Innovation underpins every part of our business. Solera’s new fleet logistics solution will give our fleet managers data insights to help enhance driver satisfaction, safety and risk reduction, and fleet performance. More efficient routing will also help significantly reduce our operations’ carbon footprint.”
Vincenzo Fusco, PMO/CDO of Farvima, said: “Thanks to the adoption of Roadnet Anywhere in the pharmaceutical wholesaling area, Farvima confirms its pioneering approach in the application of digital and innovative solutions to face the complex challenges of the sector. Governance, sustainability, and service level are the strategic objectives of this new partnership.”
Jog Lall, business development director of Fleet Solutions at Solera, said, “Pharmaceutical customers need timely delivery, the correct products, and robust traceability. It’s wonderful to see the technology collaboration between our companies, led by Vincenzo Fusco, CDO at Farvima and Lorenzo Breda, business development, Solera. We look forward to supporting Farvima as they roll it out across their distribution centres and benefit from lower carbon emissions, improved delivery efficiency, and increased customer satisfaction.”
Solera Roadnet Anywhere is part of the technology company’s global end-to-end fleet management ecosystem, designed to deliver cost savings whilst improving customer service. Furthermore, it gives fleet managers access to the data they need from a single source to increase productivity, lower risk, and retain drivers.
