LoJack Helps Seattle Police Recover Two Stolen Hyundais in One Operation

A stolen Hyundai Sonata reported missing from a hotel in Fife, WA, led police to a double recovery thanks to LoJack’s GPS technology and quick action from law enforcement.

After the theft was reported to the Fife Police Department, the vehicle’s VIN was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Fortunately, the Sonata was equipped with a LoJack GPS device. When the owner saw the car’s location on the LoJack consumer app, they immediately called the 24-hour LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Hotline. The stolen entry was confirmed, and the vehicle was added to LoJack LE, the platform that gives law enforcement live tracking of LoJack-equipped vehicles.

Within minutes, Seattle Police Department officers responded to the South Seattle neighborhood where LoJack LE indicated the vehicle’s location. Officers found the Hyundai parked and unoccupied exactly where the system showed. But the recovery didn’t stop there – at the same location, police also identified and recovered a second stolen Hyundai. Thanks to real-time tracking and rapid police response, both vehicles were safely recovered without damage and quickly returned to their owners, sparing them costly repairs and disruption.
